Review Highlights It's right in the middle of the historic district, so we were able to just park the car and walk everywhere. I would definitely recommend this place. The Eliza Thompson House is an exquisite 1847 Inn located in historic Savannah, Georgia. Overall we had a great stay and every staff member we met was extremely friendly and helpful. The woman at the front desk said she would take care of the ticket for us. They must have forgotten to tell the parking attendants, as we got a ticket after only an hour. The front desk staff called the city and was told we could park there for 2 hours without worrying about a ticket. Parking is free over the weekends and then the meters are monitored starting at 8:00 Monday morning, so we went out to put money in the meter only to find out that the meter was taking money, but not dispensing time. Kevin was full of suggestions for places to eat and visit and we were happy with the places we tried. We were able to walk everywhere - although it is nearly a 20 minute walk to River St. For some reason, the hot water took a very long time to reach the shower, but once it did, there were no issues. The bathroom was a little small for 3 women, but we made it work. Our room was the first one right off the reception area and was beautiful and spacious. The continental breakfast was very good with a wide selection of hot and cold items. The courtyard is the perfect place to relax in the evening and a nice setting for breakfast. We did not take part in the desert hour as we were downtown both nights. I really liked the parlor area where the wine and cheese was served - it provided the perfect atmosphere to meet other guests and just socialize. It was the perfect mix of hospitality and a charming hotel. ![]() We were treated like family during our stay, but I never felt like I was staying in someone else's home (that was always my hesitation in staying at a B&B). We assumed we had missed the wine and cheese hour however, as soon as he had us settled in, he brought out more wine and cheese for us to enjoy, extending the social hour. ![]() Kevin helped us with our bags, helped me find a parking space - and even guided me in as I had to parallel park in a very tight spot. ![]() When we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly staff. We arrived later than originally planned - it was nearly 7:00pm on Saturday. This fit the bill perfectly in every way. We were looking for a place with a little southern charm, spacious rooms, and public gathering areas. We spent a great deal of time researching hotels in the historic district before settling on the Eliza Thompson house. My mother, sister, and I stayed here in mid-June for 2 nights. ![]()
